January 2012 Payroll Update Instructions

BEFORE YOU BEGIN YOUR PAYROLL INSTALLATION

Special Note: Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) requires that you to upload all your T4 data to their web site electronically, if you have 50 or more employees. There will be major penalties imposed upon you if this is not done. Note: To create the Electronic XML file for upload, will required that you have Abacus 32 Windows V6.00 or Higher.

IMPORTANT: 

         DO NOT INSTALL THE UPDATE, until you have completed the last payroll for 2011

         INSTALL THE UPDATE BEFORE RUNNING T4's and Resetting Employees for 2012

 

 

Two very important steps to remember before you begin the Payroll Installation are:
  1. Make sure you have performed a backup of all the data locations you are going to update.
  2. Ensure that you turn off your Anti-virus scanning software running in the background.

You are now ready to begin your Payroll Installation.

Instructions for downloading Abacus January 2012 Payroll Update:
  1. To download the Abacus January 2012 Payroll Update, Click on the shortcut for the file and select "Save this file to disk" and click on "OK".
  2. Select the location to save the file. NOTE: If the Payroll update need to be installed on one or more machines other then this one, select a file location on a network drive that is accessible by those machines. You do not need to download the file at each machine.
  3. Make note of where you are saving the file.

  5. After the download has completed, follow the installation instructions.
